
Three militants have been killed on Thursday in the Jumagund area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that Government forces intercepted a group of infiltrating militants in Jamnagund area of Kupwara, who fired upon the forces.
During the following exchange of gunfire, three militants were killed, the official said.
“All three militants killed, affiliated with proscribed militant outfit LeT. Identification being ascertained. Incriminating materials including arms & ammunition recovered,” the Jammu Kashmir Police tweeted.
Earlier, in a tweet police said, “Based on a specific input developed by Kupwara Police regarding infiltration attempt of militants in village Jumagund, Kupwara, an encounter has started when the infiltrating militants were intercepted by Army & Police.”
