Timing, route of grand Milad rally in Anantnag announced

On Tuesday, the historical milad procession will be taken out from the Anantnag town on September 17, Jamia masjid committee Anantnag said.

In a statement issued on Friday during the congregational prayers, Moulana Rameez Hyderi said that the procession will march on its historical route strating from the Khanqah of Hazrat Baba Hyder Reshi at around 9:15 A.M.

He said the procession will later March to Sarnal via the Mattan Chowk and Kadipora road from where the procession will march to Dak Khana via K.P. road and then it will taken the Mattan Chowk- Sherbagh road and reach Cheeni chowk, the procession will then march to Janglat Mandi via Malaknag, Hazratbal and Shirpora and then will culminate at Jamia Masjid marching Via Khah Bazar.

“Devotees from any region and any sect can participate in the gathering, it is important that we maintain discipline in the rally and do not engage in any behaviour that may upset our prophet,” Moulana Rameez said.

He asked the people to avoid traveling inside the main town on the day during the timings of Milad rally and take alternate routes. “We will not cause any sort of inconvenience to anyone. But there are a lot of alternative routes in Annatnag. People must avoid traveling on the Milad routes,” he said.

Those organissing sabeels should also maintain discipline, there must not be intermingling of genders during the rally, he said.

The historic milad rally in Anantnag attracts tens and thousands of people from all over the valley and is the largest procession taken out in Kashmir to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
