TMC’s Sagarika Ghose slams ‘bombing justice’ in Kashmir following Pahalgam attack

Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sagarika Ghose has sharply criticised the Narendra Modi-led government for demolishing houses of alleged terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir following the Pahalgam terror attack.

Posting on X, Ghose likened the demolitions to “bomb justice” in Kashmir, drawing comparisons to the “bulldozer justice” practice in Uttar Pradesh, which was recently declared illegal by the Supreme Court. She questioned the timing of the action, asking why security agencies waited until after the Pahalgam tragedy to target alleged terrorist hideouts.

“After bulldozer justice in UP is ruled illegal by the Supreme Court, now ‘bomb justice’ in Kashmir,” Ghose wrote. “If security agencies knew where the homes of terrorists were located, why did it take the Pahalgam attack to prompt this action?”

Serving as the deputy leader of the TMC in the Rajya Sabha, Ghose urged the government to move beyond optics and focus on a “decisive fight against terror.” She emphasized, “Punish the guilty. Don’t use collateral damage in Kashmir for headline management.”

Her comments come amid a sweeping crackdown on terror networks in Jammu Kashmir after the April 22 attack at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives. Since the attack, security forces have demolished the homes of at least nine alleged terrorists, raided over 500 locations across the Valley, and detained hundreds for questioning.
