Top Jaish Commander, Shah Jahan Likely Among Militants Killed in Shopian

Two Militants were killed in the brief exchange of gunfire in Guhand area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district early morning on Saturday.

The Government Forces including 34 RR of Indian Army had laid a siege jointly around the apple orchards in Guhand area, and during the cordon, the Militants opened fire, to which the forces retaliated.

In this exchange of fire two Militants were killed, Officials told The Kashmiriyat.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the slain Militants have been identified as Rayees Ahmed of Rawalpora Shopian and top Jaish commander, Shah Jahan Mir, a resident of Amshipura in Shopian.

Shah jahan was one of the most wanted commander, who had joined Militant outfit Jaish e Muhammad on 02 September, 2017.

Shah Jahan Mir gained popularity on August 30 last year, when forces tried to set his house ablaze his house in Amshipora Shopian in the dead of the night.
