The Mega Fruit Mandi Shopian starts its operations with full swing as number of fruit merchants from the entire country have reached Shopian to purchase quality apples from the Mandi.
A large number of apple merchants have come to Shopian this year, as the district has produced quality product.
A fruit merchant from Varanasi, U.P. said that Shopian had the best quality apples in the entire country. “So, I appeal all the fruit merchants from all the state of the country to visit the Shopian and purchase the quality rich apples to boost their businesses,” he said.
The fruit merchants appealed to the fruit merchants of other states to visit the Shopian to purchase high quality apples and grow their businesses.
The apple season is in its initial stage yet but the rush at the mandi in Shopian indicates that the year will be very beneficial for apple growers.
President of the Fruit Association Mandi, Mir Mohammad Amin, said that Shopian has produced very high quality rich produce after several years. He welcomed all the fruit merchants from outside the erstwhile state and said that they must visit Shopian in order to get quality rich fruit to boost their business economically.
Further, he added that the traders at Shopian fruit market were happy that farmers from the region have started selling apples. “We are happy that traders from this belt have also started growing apples. This will add to the quantity and the variety of the fruit, which is good for our business,” he added.
The apple growers forwarded their warm regards to Law Enforcement wing of Agriculture Department, Shopian for their determined duties in providing best quality pestcides and fungicides with the help of which Shopian has produced such extraordinary fruits.
