Frequent damage to the Power transformer in Khan Mohalla/Shaksaz Mohalla and Khazir Shah Mohalla of Achabal has irked the consumers in this Achabal locality of Anantnag district in South Kashmir.
Residents of Khan Mohalla, Shaksaz Mohallah and Khazir Shah Mohallah said that the transformer got damaged within days after repairmen.

“It has been damaged for the second time a week. This transformer supplies electricity to some 200-300 households which have been reeling under darkness from past 8 days.”
Locals speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that to Power Development department (PDD) must repair the transformer immediately. Due to the power outage in the area, local residents said, they are facing immense inconvenience during the month of Ramadan.

“People are paying the tariff regularly, despite which we have been deprived of electricity in the holy month of Ramadan,” added a local resident.
