Tricolour Visible from Entire Downtown Srinagar Hosited on Koh e Maaran

The proposed 100-feet-tall massive tricolour has been hoisted on Saturday on the Hari Parbat fort near the shrine of the famous Sufi Saint Makhdoom Sahab in Srinagar.

According to reports, the flag is 24 feet x 36 feet, and the construction was undertaken the last month. The flag will be unfurled on Sunday- the 75th Independence Day of India.

Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that the flag is visible from the entire downtown area of Srinagar and has been hoisted atop the Afghan fort built in 1808 under the reign of Afghan governor Atta Mohammed Khan.

Earlier this month, the historical Ghanta Ghar in the Lal Chowk area of Srinagar was decorated with tri-colour lights. The Indian Army also hoisted a 100-feet tall flag.

The administration in Jammu Kashmir has also directed schools and other Government Offices to hoist the Indian national flag inside their premises.
