
Police on Friday said that it arrested two drug peddlers along with 300 Kg of poppy straw like substance in Zangam Pattan area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
In a handout to GNS, the police said that on routine naka checking near Zangam Pattan, Police signaled a Alto vehicle bearing registration number JKO5E-6826 to stop which was coming from Baramulla towards Srinagar. During search of the vehicle around 300kgs of Poppy Straw like substance was recovered from the said vehicle and arrested two drug peddlers who were identified as Jehangir Ahmad Lone S/O Mohd Sabir Lone R/O Chennad, District Baramulla and Ashaq Hussain Magloo S/O Mohd Ramzan Magloo R/O Chennad, District Baramulla and the vehicle was also seized.
The police spokesman further stated that a case under NDPS Act registered in Police Station Pattan and investigation set in motion.
General People of the area hailed the efforts of Baramulla Police and showed their willingness to support police to eradicate menace of drugs from the society which is the real sign of Police Public relationship, reads the statement.(GNS)
