Two Drug Peddlers Arrested in Awantipora by Police

The Jammu Kashmir Police on Friday claimed to have arrested two drug peddlers from the Awantipora area along with 16 kilograms of Cannabis and 250 Grams of Charas.

An official told The Kashmiriyat that two persons identified were detained by Police Station Awantipora after they placed a special Naka near Toll Plaza Awantipora and arrested two drug peddlers.

The duo was identified as Mohd Amin Wani @ Sanju R/O Zaffron Colony Panthachowk and Asif Ahmad Reshi R/O Reshimohalla Tral.

The accused duo was traveling in a vehicle which was signaled to stop and during search 16 Kgs Cannabis and 250 grams of Charas was recovered from the possession of the persons boarding in the vehicle. Vehicle BMW bearing registration number HR10R -0010 used in the commission of the said crime has also been seized.

Case FIR Number 17/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS stands registered at Police Station Awantipora.
