The Jammu Kashmir Police in Kulgam arrested two persons with contraband substances in the Kelam area of the Kulgam district in South Kashmir.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that during the intervening night of 02/03 November, while checking vehicles on Naka in the Kelam area, a Police party headed by SI Sandeep Sharma intercepted a Maruti car Alto 800 bearing registration number JK22-7447 with two persons traveling in it.
“During the checking of the aforementioned vehicle and persons, nine bottles of Codeine Phosphate were recovered from their possession,” the official said.
He identified the duo as Mudasir Ahmad Shan, resident of Nowpora and Shabir Ahmad Shan of Pati Akhran Nowpora, adding, “They have been arrested and Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.”
In this connection, a case with FIR No. 117/2020 U/S 8/21, 29 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Devsar and further investigation has been initiated.
