Two including woman supplying drugs from outside states to Sopore arrested: Police

Two persons including a woman supplying drugs from outside Kashmir have been arrested from the Sopore area of north Kashmir for running a drug racket in north Kashmir, Police said.

Addressing a press conference in Sopore, Police said, an FIR was lodged on 01-03-2023 against two persons namely Tanveer Ahmed of Seer Jagir and Javed Ahmad of parry mohalla sopore after they were arrested along with 3512 tablets of spasmoproxvyvon plus capsules.

During investigation they revealed that some other persons are selling these illegal substances in Sopore, Police said.

On 10th march one more drug peddler namely Amir Sadeeq Parra, a resident of chandoosa Baramulla was apprehended and 112 tablets were recovered from his possession. During investigation of the case it was found that two persons namely Urooj, a resident of  batpora sopore and Mohammed Ashraf Mir of Hathishah sopore are supplying these contraband substances from out side states to sopore and adjacent areas.

As per the confession from the arrested persons search were started to bust the module of drug mafia for supplying drugs from outside states to the sopore.

On 08-04- 2023 on the information these two kingpins arrested from outskirts of Srinagar area and 1648 capsules were recovered from their possession, Police said.

By arresting those persons police have successfully busted the module who were supplying drugs to the sopore area all accused persons were arrested. Further some more arrests and recoveries are to be expected, Police said.
