Two Militants have been killed in the ongoing encounter broke out between militants and Government forces in Chakoora area of Harmain belt in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Earlier, An official told The Kashmiriyat that a joint team of Indian Army’s 34 RR CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police on Wednesday launched a cordon and search operation on tip off about the movement of militants in this Shopian area.
He said that as the joint teams of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.
During the exchange of gunfire, two Militants have been killed, who are yet to be identified.
The Government Forces are still conducting searches at the site of the encounter, Sources told The Kashmiriyat.
