An encounter has started between militants and government forces in the Baramulla district of north Kashmir.
Officials told The Kashmiriyat that on Wednesday afternoon government forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Bandipora area of Rafiabad in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
During the cordon, the hiding militants opened fire on forces, resulting in an encounter.
During the following exchange of gunfire, two militants have been killed and one trooper has been inured who has been rushed to the hospital, they said.
“Encounter has started at Hadipora Sopore Rafibad, area of #Baramulla. Police and security forces are on the job,” Jammu Kashmir Police tweeted.
