Two Militants have been killed during the ongoing gunfight that broke out between government forces and militants at Hardshiva area of Sopores in Baramulla district on Thursday morning.
A Police official told The Kashmiriyat that a cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched in the area by joint team of forces including 32 RR, CRPF and SOG of Jammu Kashmir Police on specific inputs about Militant presence in the area.
An official said that, after trapping the militants, they were asked to surrender, however, opened fire, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter.
The official said that two militants have been killed so far, while their identity remains to be ascertained.
Meanwhile Internet has been snapped in the Sopore region.
