Two Local militants have trapped in an encounter between militants and Government forces at the Gundipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Earlier official sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Sunday afternoon, a joint group of 55 RR and Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving inputs about militant presence in the area launched a cordon and search operation.
The hiding militants opened fire on the troopers during the cordon, triggering an encounter. According to Jammu Kashmir Police, two local militants of Jaish e Muhammad are trapped at the site of the encounter.
Meanwhile, Kashmir Police Zone in a tweet said, “#PulwamaEncounterUpdate: 02 local #terrorists of proscribed #terror outfit JeM trapped in #encounter including killer of our #Martyr Constable Reyaz Ahmad. JeM terrorist Abid Shah had killed our unarmed colleague on 13/5/22: IGP Kashmir.”
