Two militants have been killed during the ongoing encounter in the Shopian district of south Kashmir.
During the interviewing night, government forces including RR, police and CRPF laid a cordon and search operation following an input about militant movement in the Alshipora area of the south Kashmir district.
As the forces reached the suspected spot, the hiding militants opened fire upon the goverment forces triggering an encounter, an official told The Kashmiriyat.
He said that during the following exchange of gunfire, two militants were killed. “Their identities are being verified,” he said.
Meanwhile, the search operation is still going on as more militants are believed to be present at the spot.
