Two Militants have been killed in the encounter that raged in the Warpora area of Sopore late on Thursday evening.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that based on a specific intelligence input, a joint team of Army’s 22RR, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF 179,177 and 92Batalions launched a cordon and search operation in the Warpora area. of Sopore.
During the cordon, the Militants held up in a house fired towards the search party, which was retaliated with force, the official said.
He said that reinforcements were rushed to the spot and searchlights were installed to not let Militants use the darkness and escape from the spot.
Two militants have been killed during the encounter, who are yet to be identified, the official told The Kashmiriyat
During the encounter in the Warpora Sopore area, two unidentified militants were killed.
Internet services have been suspended in the district as a precautionary measure.
A per initial reports received by The Kashmiriyat the slain duo is associated with the Militant outfit, Lashkar e Taiba.
