Two Militants Killed In Srinagar Identified, One of Them Top Commander of Lashkar

Two Militants have been killed during an encounter that raged early morning on Saturday at Ranbirgarh, Parimpora in Srinagar.

An official of Jammu Kashmir Police has said that on Saturday morning, Joint forces launched a major operation against a group of Militants who had opened fire on the soldiers here in the midst of a search operation that started after the intelligence inputs. After which the army started counter operation against them. A CRPF jawan has also been reported injured in this encounter.

Within an hour, two Militants identified as Irfan Rashid of Sazith area in Srinagar and Aijaz Ahmed Bhat of Pulwama were killed, both were affiliates of Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Irfan, Police said, was active since 2018. “He was active in Srinagar since 2018 and was carrying out Militant activities. There are many cases of violence against him. He was being searched for a long time,” Police said.

Aijaz, a resident of Pulwama was also killed during the operation.
