Two Militants have been killed during an encounter has started between militants and Government forces in the Kandipora area of Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) district on Thursday.
An official said told The Kashmiriyat said that 03 Rashtriya Rifles of the Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF jointly laid a siege in the Kandipora area of Bijbehara on Wednesday evening.
He said that the cordon was laid after the forces had received a tip-off about Militant movements in the area.
As soon as the forces launched the searches, the Militants opened fire on them to which the forces responded.
The operation was suspended late at night after an initial exchange of gunfire, however, the firing resumed on Thursday morning. During the exchange of gunfire, two Militants have been killed, who are yet to be identified.
The search operation at the site of the encounter is still going on.
