Two Militants Reportedly Killed in Brief Encounter in Shopian

Two unidentified Militant has been killed when they were intercepted by Indian Army’s 44 RR in Pinnjura area of Shopian District of South Kashmir.

Sources informed The Kashmiriyat that the Militants opened fire on a party of Indian Army when they were intercepted by them near the Pinjura’s Parguchi to which the Army responded.

In the retaliatory fire, two Militants, unidentified, were killed, however no dead body has been recovered from the site as of yet, they said.

A massive search operation has been launched in the area as more militants are believed to have escaped from the spot of initial contact between Militants and Government Forces.

In the initial exchange of fire, Sources told The Kashmiriyat.

As per Locals, the firing has stopped, however a search operation is underway and more forces are being called to the spot.

Meanwhile a Police official upon being contacted by The Kashmiriyat confirmed the exchange of fire adding that they are ascertaining the details of the incident.
