Two Militants have been killed in an encounter that had started between Militants and Government Forces in the Qazi Mohallah, Tiken area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama District on Saturday morning.
Officials told The Kashmiriyat that 55RR of Indian Army, SOG of Jammu Kashmir Police and 183 CRPF had jointly launched the Anti Militancy operation early morning on Saturday.
Earlier Forces had launched a Cordon and Search Operation in the area upon receiving a specific input about the presence of Militants in the area, Sources told The Kashmiriyat.
The holed up Militants opened fire upon the forces triggering an encounter. in the ensuing gunfight two Militants were believed to be trapped in a residential house in the Tiken were killed, sources told The Kashmiriyat.
The identity of the slain Militants has not been ascertained as of yet, however as per initial inputs available to The Kashmiriyat one of the slain Militants has been identified as Liyakat Ahed, who is a resident of Bellow area in Pulwama,
Meanwhile the forces are still conducting a search operation in the area.
