
Two minor girls were reportedly raped by two men in a forest area in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, police confirmed on Saturday.
The police have identified the suspects as Dalip Kumar and Ravinder Kumar, both residents of Panchound.
The victims, aged 16 and 17, were returning home from a school picnic when they were allegedly assaulted by the suspects on Friday evening.
According to a police spokesperson, the girls were found unconscious in the forest the following morning.
Upon receiving the information, the police rescued them and transported them to a hospital in Ramnagar for treatment. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
The spokesperson further stated that the accused fled the scene after the incident but were later apprehended by special police teams dispatched to various locations.
