
The death of two renowned personalities from the Handwara town of Kupwara district is being widely mourned by locals of the north Kashmir area.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat that two spiritual figures, Ghulam Rasool Sheikh and Peer Ghulam Mohi-ud-din passed away in their native town creating a massive vacuum among thousands of their followers.
Peer Ghulam Mohi-ud-din, a resident of Kalipora in Handwara passed away late Saturday night at his residence after suffering a heart attack.
Peer Mohi-ud-din was a famous saint and has a huge following in Handwara.
Ghulam Rasool Sheikh who passed away last week was renowned among the locals who said that he was highly knowledgeable in his field of spirituality and had followers across Jammu Kashmir.
The deaths are being condoled widely by various sections of society including politicians, social activists who are also visiting the residences of the duo in north Kashmir.
