Two persons on Friday died in a glacier burst at the Kolhai Glacier in Pahalgam area of South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) District.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that two persons identified as Naveed Jeelani (KAS), Excise and Taxation Officer and Adil Shah of Alpine Adventure group died on the Kolhai Glacier.
A group of seven people had left from Aru two days back to the Kolhai glacier, however today only four of them returned informing the concerned officials that two people had died on the glacier while one of them identified as Haziq was critically wounded.
The dead bodies of the two have not been recovered from the glacier as of yet, officials said adding that it takes nine hours days from Aru to reach the spot of the accident.
They added that a rescue team is on the way to the spot to rescue the bodies.
