Two unidentified militants killed in Anantnag area

One unidentified militant has been killed in th south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

As per initial reports, two unidentified militants have been killed during an encounter in the in Halkan Gali which lies on the mountain pass that connects Shangus and Kokernag in Anantnag district.

Earlier, a team of government forces including the RR of Indian army, Jammu Kashmir police launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

He said that as the joint teams approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon them which was retaliated to, triggering an encounter.

As per Police, one more militant is believed to be trapped at the site of the encounter.

This is the second encounter to have started in the Kashmir valley following the encounter that begun in Srinagar’s Khanyar area.
