On Thursday, the United States (US) President Donald Trump announced the historic news of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Israel joining hands to establish full diplomatic ties as part of a deal to halt further annexation, as per Isreal’s 2020 plans, of land claimed by Palestinians.
This move makes UAE the first Gulf Arab nation and the third Arab country to sought diplomatic ties with Israel, amid the continuous tensions between Palestine and Israel.
This deal is said to back Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s continuous statements about his government enjoying closer ties to Arab countries than publicly spoken about.
HUGE breakthrough today! Historic Peace Agreement between our two GREAT friends, Israel and the United Arab Emirates!

Earlier this year, the US and Isreal had formulated a 2020 deal of annexing Jordan Valley and other parts of the ‘occupied’ West Bank that are both sought by the Palestinians.
A joint statement from the US, the UAE, and Israel was released immediately after Trump’s tweet stating Israel’s agreement to suspend these 2020 annexation plans of Isreal taking over parts of the “occupied West Bank”.
Suspending the annexation plans pose as a political risk for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, who’s elections campaigns ran on such promises.
Palestine has historically depended on the Arab nations to support its struggle for independence. This deal between UAE and Isreal has come as both a win and setback for Palestinians.
Although the deal halts Israel’s annexation plans of land claimed by Palestinians, the people of Palestine have repeatedly called on and reminded the Arab countries not to normalize relations nor join hands with Israel until a deal establishing an ‘independent Palestinian state’ is agreed to.

The joint statement from the US, the UAE, and Israel read, “Opening direct ties between two of the Middle East’s most dynamic societies and advanced economics will transform the region by spurring economic growth, enhancing technological innovation and forging closer people-to-people relations.”
UAE has long maintained its stand urging Isearl to permit the creation of a Palestinian state on land it seized in the 1967 war.
However, over the past few years, ties between Gulf Arab countries and Israel have increased. The main reason behind this is claimed to be Isreal and UAE’s shared enmity of Iran and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.
Commenting on the deal, UAE’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash said, “Most countries will see this as a bold step to secure a two-state solution, allowing time for negotiations.”
Following the footsteps of UAE, Oman, and Bahrain also intend to normalize ties with Isreal, American official reported to Palestinian newspaper Al-Quds.
Currently, among Arab nations, only Egypt and Jordan have active diplomatic ties with Israel.
