On Saturday, the ruler of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Emirates’ leader, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, issued a decree formally ending UAE’s boycott of Israel, state-run WAM news agency reported.
This decree comes after the historic August 13th US-brokered deal that states the normalization of diplomatic ties between the UAE and Israel.
According to WAM, the decree permits Israelis and Israeli firms to conduct business in the UAE, as well as purchase and trade Israeli goods.
“The decree of the new law comes within the UAE’s efforts to expand diplomatic and commercial cooperation with Israel,” WAM stated.
The decree is “a roadmap toward launching joint cooperation, leading to bilateral relations by stimulating economic growth and promoting technological innovation,” the WAM news agency added.
