Jammu Kashmir has registered the highest unemployment rate in India with the unemployment rate climbing to 21.6 percent.
According to the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) figures, with 21. 6 per cent unemployment, Jammu Kashmir has the highest unemployment in India.
The unemployment rates are produced by CMIE using its Consumer Pyramids Household Survey machinery.
CMIE data reveals that India’s unemployment rate is 6.9 percent which means Jammu Kashmir has much higher unemployment rate than the national average.
According to the CMIE data, the unemployment rate in Jammu Kashmir has jumped from over 13 percent in August 2021 to 21.6 percent in September.
As per the data, Jammu Kashmir is the only region in India where unemployment percentage has crossed over 20 percent.
Jammu Kashmir in terms of the highest unemployment is followed by Haryana, Rajasthan, Tripura.
