Unidentified dead body found in Sangam

An unidentified male dead body was recovered by the locals of Sangam area in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

An official told The Kashmiriyat that on  Monday afternoon, locals after spotting a body near Panjpora crossing in Anantnag district’s Sangam area called the Police station Sangam to rescue the body.

Police rushed to the spot and shifted the dead body to GMC Anantnag for medico-legal Formalities, he said.

The identity of the dead body was not known, when this report was filed.

Meanwhile, the Jammu Kashmir police have issued an online notice asking people to identify the body.

“It is to inform the general public that one unidentified male dead body was recovered by Police Post Sangam at NHW 44 near Panjpora crossing. The dead body is lying in the mortuary of GMC Anantnag. Any body having any kind of information regarding the identification of the same may please contact on the phone numbers 9596777656 SDPO BIJBEHARA, 9596777622 SHO BIJBEHARA, 9596777636 I/C PP SANGAM,” the notice read.
