Uniform datesheet issued for Class 1-9 in Kashmir under new academic calendar

The Directorate of School Education in Kashmir has released the uniform date sheet for summative assessments for classes 1 to 9 across all government and private schools in the Kashmir division.

This notification, of which a copy is available with The Kashmiriyat marks the first assessment under the revised academic calendar, which the Jammu Kashmir government recently shifted back to a traditional November session from the previous March schedule.

According to the issued schedule, the exams will commence on November 25, 2024, and conclude on December 6, 2024. The assessments will be conducted between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm each day, covering subjects like English, Hindi/Urdu, Kashmiri, Mathematics, Science, Environmental Studies (EVS), and Social Studies, depending on the grade level.

In addition to the dates, the Directorate has provided instructions to schools, emphasizing that assessments should align with updated competencies, curricular goals, and learning outcomes as part of a holistic evaluation approach.

Schools have also been directed to arrange for smooth examination conduct and ensure timely paper evaluations, with results expected to be declared by or before December 15, 2024.

The date sheet has been distributed to relevant educational authorities and officials, including the Principal Secretary of the School Education Department J&K, JKBOSE, and other key officers, ensuring wide dissemination and compliance.
