An unregistered news portal alleged of circulating fake news was busted and two persons involved in managing the site were arrested in Kupwara district, officials said.
The officials informed news agency Kashmir Scroll that J&K Police’s CIK wing busted the unregistered news portal by the name “Daily News & Analysis,” with a Pakistan flag logo, circulating fake news.
“The two site admins/managers namely Zahoor Ahmad Khan and Abdul Rouf Peer, from Kupwara, were arrested for spreading rumours to disturb peace and tranquillity”, the official said.
“Several digital devices were seized from the duo, which are under investigation”, the official added. (KS)
