Two more militants were killed taking the total number of militants killed to three, in the encounter that raged in Panthachowk area of Srinagar.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that a Police official (ASI)who was injured earlier in the encounter, succumbed to his injuries.
The identity of the Militants has not been ascertained as of yet.
He said that the ASI Babu Ram who was earlier critically injured succumbed to his injuries at 92 Base hospital of army in Srinagar.
Pertinently on Saturday evening, three militants had attacked a joint team of police and CRPF near Panthachowk in which no injury or casuality took place.
Immediately after the attack, the joint forces launched a massive cordon and search operation during which the militants were found to be hiding in a residential area.
As the troops inched closer to the suspected spot, the militants opened fire on the forces, triggering a gunfight.
