Two Militants have been killed in the ongoing an encounter that broke out between government forces and militants in the Sirigufwara area of Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday morning.
A Police official told The Kashmiriyat that a cordon and search operation (CASO) was launched in the area by a joint team of forces including Army’s 3RR, CRPF and JK police on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the Sirigufwara area.
He said that after trapping the militants, they were asked to surrender, however, they opened fire which was retaliated, this triggering an encounter.
The official said that during the gunfight two Militants have been killed, who are yet to be identified.
Meanwhile, the internet has been snapped in the area.
