Various socio-religious personalities on Friday paid tributes to the slain Mirwaiz of south Kashmir, Dr. Qazi Nisar ahead of his martyrdom anniversary.
Ummat e Islami spokesperson, according to a press release said, that scores of clerics in nooks and corners of Kashmir valley including North and Central Kashmir remembering the services of Dr. Qazi Nisar Ahmed paid rich tributes to him.
At Jamia Masjid Anantnag, revered Islamic scholar Ghulam Mohiuddin Naqeeb addressed the large Friday gathering and said the political, social, and religious services of Dr. Qazi Nisar are unparalleled.
Paying glorious tributes to Dr. Qazi Nisar, Moulana Naqeeb said, “Shaheed was well-versed in several languages. When he spoke Arabic, many Arabs felt he was an Arab. When he spoke Persian, you’d never think he is not a Persian man, When he spoke Urdu, it seemed he was from Lucknow and when he spoke English, he sounded like an English man. But despite being so revered and popular in all these nations, he chose to stay in Kashmir and serve the people in the valley.”
Moulana Naqeeb said that the people of Kashmir have always held Dr. Qazi Nisar in high regard and his services are not concealed from anyone.
Moulana Shanawaz Gazali addressing a gathering in Muran Pulwama said it was because of Dr. Qazi Nisar that Islamic education became available to all. “Qazi Nisar always aimed to provide Islamic education, which otherwise was a luxury to certain castes or classes, to everyone,” he said.
Maulana Altaf Qureshi addressing a gathering in Ganderbal said Dr. Qazi Nisar was a revolutionary leader. “he could have chosen an easy way, but he did not. He stayed in Kashmir and continued to work for his people. He had a choice, but he chose martyrdom over slavery,” Altaf Qureshi told the gathering.
Moulana Irshad Attari and Shahnawa Gazali remembering the slain Mirwaiz said he united Muslims of the Kashmir valley. “There is hardly any example of unity like that in the Islamic History when Muslims gathered under a single banner and offered congregational prayers unitedly,” the duo said.
Moulana Umar Zubair paid tributes to the Mirwaiz of south Kashmir in Kulgam and said that Dr. Qazi Nisar predicted the future of Muslims in India decades ago. “Whatever he said in his letters and books is all being felt visible throughout India now. Dr. Qazi Nisar was a visionary leader, who did not merely speak, but turned his words into action,” he stated.
In Budgam, Kupwara, Shopian, Ganderbal Pulwama, and Anantnag districts several clerics paid tributes to the slain scholar on his anniversary which falls on the 19th of June.
Earlier, a blood donation camp was organized in Anantnag for needy patients where more than 50 volunteers donated blood in the memory of Dr. Qazi Nisar Ahmed.
On 19th of June, a Fateh Khawani will be held at Mazar e Shouda, where the slain cleric is laid to rest, the press release added.
