Vehicle carrying illicit timber seized in Handwara, driver arrested

During the intervening night 5/6 June 2022, Police party from PP Zachaldara while naka checking at main bazar Zachaldara intercepted a vehicle Eeco bearing Regd.No Jk 05C/4553 which was signaled to stop by the alert naka party for checking.

According to a statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), During checking, the vehicle was found laden with illicit timber which was seized on spot. The driver of the vehicle tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully who later on was identified as Sonaullah wani S/o Gh Rasool R/o Badkoot.

In this relation Case FIR no. 153/2022 U/S 389 IPC ,26 Forest Act stands registered in PS Handwara and investigation initiated.(KNS)
