
Two soldiers were killed after the Sumo they were traveling in met with an accident near Kanipora village of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Official sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that a Sumo carrying soldiers from 44 RR Chowgam Camp was on its way to the encounter site at Badigam.
They said the driver lost control of the vehicle and it skidded off the road. Four soldiers were injured in the mishap.
Sources added that the injured were shifted to District Hospital Shopian, where two among them succumbed. They said that the remaining two injured soldiers have been evacuated to 92 Base Army hospital Srinagar.
Meanwhile, police said that two militants have been neutralized in the Badigam Shopian encounter.
Police said that the encounter is underway. (KNT)
