Vehicles used for militancy activities attached under UAPA in Kashmir: Police

Jammu Kashmir police in Srinagar and Budgam have attached two vehicles used in militancy activities under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (UAPA).

In Budgam, police attached an Innova vehicle (Reg No. JK01AT-7604) linked to a terror module. The vehicle, owned by Mudasir Ahmad Rather of Kantbagh Kralpora, was seized under Section 25 of the UAPA in connection with FIR No. 151/2024 registered at Police Station Chadoora.

Separately in Srinagar, police attached a motorcycle (Reg No. PB17A-3362, Model 2007) in possession of Fahad Bashir Siddiqui, a resident of Akilmir Khanyar. The action was taken under FIR No. 55/2021 registered at Police Station MR Gunj, also under Section 25 of the UAPA.

In both cases, authorities have issued legal notices prohibiting the sale, transfer, or rental of the attached vehicles. Police teams executed the seizures in full compliance with legal procedures.

The actions reflect the zero-tolerance approach of law enforcement agencies in Jammu Kashmir toward militancy and its support structures, as police continue to urge public cooperation in maintaining peace and security
