Several locals in these areas have received eviction notice including one Abdul Rashid Malik, a local who has donated his personal property in Sunjwan for the PDP office.
As per the locals, a massive crowd has gathered at Nawabad area of Sunjwan in Jammu to protest against the eviction notices served to several residents.
Pertinently Jammu Kashmir admin has ordered the deputy commissioners to ensure a hundred per cent removal of “encroachments” over state land by January 31.
The order also seeks the removal of the lakhs of land beneficiaries of Jammu Kashmir’s Roshni Land Law, which was later pronounced as a “scam’ by the court.
The Roshni land act was thrust into spotlight after a judgment was delivered by the Jammu Kashmir High Court on October 9, 2020 ordering a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
