Viral video sparks anger: Non-Local men accused of filming Kashmiri women

A video circulating on social media showing non-local men filming Kashmiri women without their consent has ignited anger and concern among residents and online users.

The footage, allegedly recorded from inside a car, shows the men staring at and capturing videos of women in public spaces.

The incident has been widely condemned, with many calling it an invasion of privacy and a blatant disregard for local culture and women’s safety.

Social media platforms have been flooded with criticism, with users demanding strict action against those involved.

Mehak Firdous, a Kashmiri woman expressed, “Kashmir is not your safari & its people are not exhibits for your amusement. If you can’t act like a decent human being you don’t deserve to set foot here. Authorities must crack down on this disgraceful behavior with strict consequences and locals have every right to call out”

Another user, NewsEye wrote on their twitter handle, “Tourists in Srinagar shamelessly staring at Kashmiri women, also filmed them & posted video online.”

Shahid, who directly tagged the authorities, questioned, “ What kind of behaviour is this?, This isn’t acceptable! Never ever. Either behave in a proper manner otherwise you’re not allowed to visit Kashmir. Kindly take action.

Zia Bhat addressed the authorities, “@SrinagarPolice do you have any shame or you just don’t want to take any action because of your incompetence???? You are paid by taxpayers and you should do your damn WORK for PUBLIC.”
