Volleyball Tourney Conducted by Indian Army Concludes in Shopian

Hundreds of people on Thursday joined to watch the Grand finale of a volleyball tournament organized by the Army in the Shopian district in Kashmir.

The Grand Finale of inter-District Volleyball Tournament an initiative by 44 RR of Indian Army was played in Ahagam village of Shopian.

In the said tournament around 12 teams from different parts of Shopian participated with zeal and zest.

In a press release  issued to The Kashmiriyat, the Indian Army has said that, “The Tournament was played on knock out mode with the participation of 12 teams from areas including Ahagam, Pirpora, Arihel and Marhang.”

The final Match was Played between Marheng and Ahagam in which Ahgam Shopian won the tournament Trophy and prizes.

On the occasion commanding officer of 44 RR Addressed the Gathering and assured people that the Army is always at their Door Steps, always for any Assistance.

In the Final Ceremony, winning players were Given Cash prizes with Trophy to boost their morale.

Players in return expressed their gratitude towards the Army for organising such events generating gestures of goodwill and patriotism.
