The chairman of the Civil Society, Wachi urged the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu Kashmir to establish a women’s college at Wachi on Friday.
He said that after passing their 12th class examination, the female students from Wachi Melura, Wanduna, Safangri, Darbagh, Babapora, Awanura, Chermarag, K Chak, and adjoining villages have to travel all along to Srinagar or Anantnag for higher education.
“The students of these areas can pursue further studies here itself if a college is built at Wachi,” he said. He urged the Lieutenant Governor to fulfill the long pending demand of Wachi Constituency Headquarter at the earliest.
