Days after a Muslim teenaged boy was thrashed in a Ghaziabad temple for trying to drink water from a temple, another such incident has been reported from the Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh.
In this fresh incident, an 18-year-old boy Muslim man has said that he was thrashed at a temple in Etawah after the accused asked about his faith.
The Uttar Pradesh police have arrested two persons in connection with the incident that allegedly took place at Pitambara Mata Mandir, according to a report in Indian Express.
The two accused have been identified as Shailendra Singh Verma (44) and Akhil Verma (40).

“I went to the temple to drop off construction material to the temple. They spoke in a good manner initially and then they asked, how much i charge for the labor. I said, Rs 460. They asked me to come inside and take the money. When i got inside the temple, they asked for my name. Once I told them my name was Danish, they asked me whether I am a Muslim and locked the gates. They then started beating me with iron rods and pipes. A Majarah ji was present in the temple who asked them to stop and wait for others to come,” the report from Indian express quoted Danish from the video as saying.
Police have now registered an FIR under Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 342 (wrongful confinement) of the Indian penal Code (IPC).
