The PDP president Mehbooba Mufti today said that people of Jammu, Kashmir belonging to any ethnicity, should resist the new laws being imposed by the central government in Jammu Kashmir.
She said that people should awaken and challenge the government on giving land to outsiders in summits.
Mehbooba was speaking to reporters in Bijbehara in Anantnag according to news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) after offering prayers at the grave of her father and PDP founder late Mufti Sayeed on his 6th death anniversary.
Hundreds of PDP workers had gathered at the graveyard in Bijbehara where they held a protest against the administration for “not allowing them inside the graveyard”.
Led by the PDP president, the workers shouted slogans against the administration.
Meanwhile, Mehbooba Mufti alleged that her party workers are being “hounded by police”.
“J&K police is hounding my party workers who dared to offer Fatiha at his grave today. Outlawing & criminalizing even a simple act of paying respect & tribute to one’s leader shows state administration’s deep paranoia & intolerance,” Mehbooba tweeted.
She also thanked the workers who attended the prayer function.
“On Mufti Sahab’s sixth death anniversary, Id like to thank everybody who paid rich tributes to him. We continue to believe & strive for his vision of a dignified & empowered J&K,” she said. (KDC)
