Watch- With people out for Friday Namaz, Two Siblings tied with a rope, attacked with knife in Srinagar

Two siblings were injured in a knife attack in the Moominabad of Batamaloo area in the Srinagar district of central Kashmir on Friday.

One of the attacked girl speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that the two siblings were injured after two persons entered their house and attacked them with a sharp-edged weapon on Friday afternoon.

“Two of them caught hold of us, tied us with a rope, and dragged us. They were demanding cash. I somehow managed to untie the rope and alarmed the locals. In the process, I sustained injuries in my hand and neck,” the girl said.

“Our aunt was sleeping and she along with her sister was present in the room. The male members of the family had gone to  offer Friday prayers” she said.

The incident has triggered shock among the locals and happens at a time when people are trying to overcome the trauma post the recent acid attack on a girl in Srinagar.

The Jammu Kashmir Police meanwhile said that the accused was arrested in swift action by police

The accused was identified as Umar Yusuf Wani Wani of the Firdousabad area in Batamaloo.
