Residents of Thajiwara, Achabal in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district blocked Anantnag/Achabal road and staged protest against Jal Shakti Department for failing to provide drinking water supply to the area.
The residents told The Kashmiriyat that they face acute shortage of Drinking water supply in the village. The residents alleged that they have brought the issue under the notice of the concerned department several times but the department pays no heed to their repeated pleas.
They have appealed to the authorities to provide them the Scheduled drinking water at the earliest so they don’t face the problem during Hot days.
Residents said that they were facing many problems and meanwhile, the authorities were not taking any measures to end the hardships of the people.
They also added that the water crisis had become one of the major issues in the village because despite living in the 21st century, “we do not get drinking water on scheduled timings.”
Locals of the area appealed to the higher authorities of concerned department for redressal of the grievance.
