After hours of rainfall water levels are decreasing fast in all the major tributaries of Jhelum including Waisho, Arpat, Lidder, Bringi among others, however, the water level has crossed the danger mark at Ram Munshi Bagh in Srinagar.
As per Kashmir Weather, some relief can be expected from the rainfall today as showers are mostly expected in Kathua district and some areas of Kishtwar, Doda and Udhampur.
A few other spots in Jammu and Kashmir can receive a short spell of rainfall as well. However, it may not cause any harm.
According to MeT centre Srinagar, Rainfall has stopped at most parts of Kashmir, including in south Kashmir.
The Department said that Rains are very likely in Kathua,Samba, Doda, districts. Light rain in spells in Ramban, Udhampur districts.
An overall improvement expected from 10th July, 2023, MeT said.
Even though water level of Jhelum river along with its tributaries is going to come down now, At Ram Munshi Bagh Srinagar and Asham, water level of Jhelum is likely to increase for now, before it will start receding in the afternoon/evening.
Meanwhile, the Irrigation & Flood Control Department, Kashmir has issued the gauge reading at 8 A.M which shows that water has crossed the danger mark at Sangam, in Pampore, at Ram Munshi Bagh, however, the water is below the danger mark at Asham.
