In today’s modern and technological era as the world is shrinking by advanced means of communication and also at this moment in time, the government is launching new initiatives like Digital India etc , But punctuating such tall claims are fruitful only within cabinet and offices , On ground these claims prove hoax, the Same situation is witnessed in Upper reaches of Tral villages in South Kashmir.

Naristan , Zoastan , Hajin & Bangidar villages of Tral are without telecom tower since the various telecom operators established their units in Kashmir valley.

A group of residents From these village told The Kashmiriyat that the only Airtel mobile tower is available in Aripal village of Tral, This tower is serving almost 40 different villages, but they are not benefited by this only tower.

This single mobile tower installed in the area often remains dysfunctional due to which inhabitants of at least a dozen villages face immense problems.

They said the lone tower is installed in Aripal village, 12 kilometers away from Tral sub-district, But the alone mobile tower of the area hardly functions properly thereby giving a nightmare for the public, they added.

A group of residents from different villages said that a number of villages of the area including Aripal, Dar Ganie Gund , Jawaharpora Laam, Deodarpora Guttangoo, satura, Naristan, Zoastan,Hajin, Banghidar, Laribal , Guttroo , wanthnaad , Nagnaad , wagad , Syedabad Pastuna , Lorow jageer , loragam , gulshanpora , loragam ,  Dembal and others depend on this lone tower for communication, but they say the tower always “disappoints them”.

“We have to try five or six times to connect a call and also while receiving a call there is no clarity in the voice,” the residents of these areas told The Kashmiriyat.

“The student needs internet facility, we students are the worst sufferers due to internet problem.we are lagging in all such basic amenities,” a student preparing for CET exams said.
