The former Chief Minister of Jammu Kashmir and the president of People’s Democratic Party, Mehbooba Mufti on Friday said that India wants the Land of Jammu Kashmir not its people.
Addressing a presser at her residence, first time post her 14-month detention, Mehbooba Mufti pitched for similar demands as the National Conference president, Farooq Abdullah.
Speaking to Press here on Friday in Srinagar, Mehbooba Mufti said that She will not raise any flag till the restoration of special status of Jammu Kashmir.
“Thousands of people have given their lives for the resolution of Kashmir issue, now is the time for political leaders to give their blood,” Mehbooba Mufti said.
She said that the fight to restoration of Articles 35A and 370 is not a fight of any party, but for the people of Jammu Kashmir. “People should support us at this crucial juncture.”
Admitting her coalition with BJP as a mistake, she said that they tried to put Jennie in a bottle, but did not succeed. “Late Mufti knew that the storm of Right wing was coming, he tried to contain them by joining hands with them and have a say in their running of Jammu Kashmir.”
Mehbooba Mufti was placed under arrest on August 05 last year when the Government of India abrogated the special status of Jammu Kashmir, three former chief ministers were among thousands of people put under detention.
Hundreds were booked under the Public Safety Act.
