On Tuesday, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Iran will strike a reciprocal blow against America for the killing of Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani, according to the Iranian Supreme Leader’s official website.
This statement by the Supreme leader was said in a meeting with Iraq Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi.
Soleimani’s killing was ordered by the US President Donald Trump on January 3 via a drone strike near Baghdad international airport.
The US had accused Qassem Soleimani of planning attacks by Iranian-aligned militias on US forces in the region.
The US drone strike killed Iran’s top general Qassem Soleimani as well as Iraqi commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.
