
The Jammu Kashmir Police in Ganderbal district have detained a woman suspected of stealing jewelry from her sister’s residence.
Kaiser Ahmad Waza, residing at Tawheed Chowk Ganderbal, filed a complaint claiming that his sister-in-law, who was staying as a guest, stole gold ornaments from the locker in his room.
A case was registered at Police Station Ganderbal, prompting an investigation. A dedicated police team, aided by technological assistance, tracked down the suspect at Hari Singh High Street, Srinagar.
Following initial interrogation, the accused admitted to the theft, disclosing that she sold the stolen items for cash.
Subsequently, police recovered Rs 1,85,500 in cash and a scooter based on her disclosure.
